| What was the hardest part in preparing for med school? | Choosing which schools I was most interested in and narrowing down my search. Also, the secondary applications were much more time-consuming than I had thought they'd be. | read other replies on this topic |
| How much did you work while going through pre-med? | I worked various jobs (turoring, research, grading, etc) throughout my 4 years. My summer jobs and internships were close to full-time but I only worked approximately 5 hrs. a week during the school year. | read other replies on this topic |
| What did you do for MCAT preparation? | I took a Kaplan course but did not study as much as they told us we needed to. I had already seen most of the material covered so that may have helped. I found the most helpful thing for me to do was take past exams. | read other replies on this topic |

| How much did you volunteer? | I volunteered various places. I spent 4 hrs/week in the Duke Cancer Clinic just talking with patients (nothing clinical really) and also taught basic first-aid principles to first graders at an inner-city grade school. | read other replies on this topic |

| Describe your pre-med schedule, typical day and week | I was a biomedical engineer so I had a lot of labs in undergrad (mostly electrical engineering) and design courses. I did not have to take many courses outside of my major to fulfill premed requirements. | read other replies on this topic |
| Did you do any other extracurricular activities? | I raced on the ski team, which was a short season so didn't take up too much time except for in the winter. | read other replies on this topic |
| How did you choose your med school? | I am from Milwaukee so I wanted to come back home and be near my family. I also really liked the program at Medical College of Wisconsin and liked that it was solely a medical school and that the faculty was here for us and not for undergrads. | read other replies on this topic |
