| Why medicine? What is your story? | I've always wanted to help people, since I was very young + had intense interest in the medical sciences + enjoyed the diversity and the continued education medicine provided. After volunteering in hospitals and conducting cardiovascular research I decided to definetly pursue medicine. | read other replies on this topic |
| Are you in any special circumstances? Anything unique? | I've lived in 4 different countries and seen so much. I personally suffered from Grave's disease and was very sick for a few years. Nevertheless, I still persevered and here I am :) | read other replies on this topic |

| How much did you work while going through pre-med? | - I made the mistake of working in my third year of undergrad and my GPA plummeted.
- I worked in the summers for pharm companies, private tutoring, research etc

| What clinical exposure did you have? | - peds clinic, breast cancer clinic, helping patients fill out charts, talking to them about various treatment options and their concerns. | What suggestions do you have for the personal statement? | - BE HONEST
- Make it interesting, ADCOMS see tons of personal statements and yours HAS to stand out.
- THE FIRST few sentances are crucial, perhaps start with an interesting quote

| What suggestions do you have for the secondary applications? | - GET THEM IN FAST!!!!!!!!!! even fedex them!

| Describe your pre-med schedule, typical day and week | I never had a 'typical' day or week, some days I studied 14 hours straight, others I slept most of the day. The key is to know what makes you successful and to try to keep a balanced life! | read other replies on this topic |

| How did you choose your med school? | I was REALLY impressed with the facilities at RFUMS-CMS and the match list was GREAT! the board scores are also above the national average. In addition, as a Canadian student, they DID NOT require an escrow account (have $200,000 grand in your bank account) as many other schools do. I did have a choice for other schools, but am REALLY glad I came here, the people are great. Our dean is really friendly and even has lunches with students every week. The facilities in the anatomy lab are great and the histo labs are all online!!! | read other replies on this topic |
